Convenient
The big plus for me is that it converts mts to m4v format which is typically used by iTunes and Apple TV. My old (gen 1) Apple Tv has a 160gb disk which makes it convenient to view stuff on my big screen TV without having to stream on my somewhat erratic home wifi. I converted a 75 minute video in about 7 or 8 minutes.
